Great submission, this has lot's of potential!
Some changes that i would love to see:
- make the energy system obvious, it took 3 tries for me to understand why things weren't working
- quick button for turning buildings on and off (or even a customizable preset that will switch buildings for you in the battle phase)
- unit variety and an indicator that will show where the enemies will come from (this is a personal preference)
- bug: if you restart you lose the upgrade button?
I can definitely see this game sell well on steam for a couple bucks after some polishing and more content!

P.S.: Were you inspired at all by 9 kings?
On my first run there was an issue with upgrade button, it didn't showed up, reboot helped. As said before, 2 minutes with 1-2 actions between them are a little bit boring and core beam is OP, but I really love visuals, sound and core mechanic. But overall this is one of the best projects of this jam, imho <3

The isometric pixel art its perfect, really beautiful, the sound design its on the point too, i just missed a time accelerator, because waiting 120 sec to the next wave can be a bit monotonous, but the game is great!! Really well done, my game share a little of yours style too, because of the tower defense mechanic.
Also, i didn't have to use any turret to defend my base, because the mouse attack its very strong, so, because of this, seems that i'm improving my base, but there's no purpose on it.
thank you for such detailed feedback! we will definitely play your game! you are absolutely right in all your comments. time acceleration is something that we simply did not have time to implement, and in the mouse hit there is an error in the calculation of the cooldown 😅
I tried several times, but the miner produced no metal at all. Only the gas pump works.

Oh, I figured it out now. Awesome game mechanics and graphics! As it is a tower defense game, perhaps there could be some walls or barricades?
I also experienced the 1000 limit with the materials as another comment mentioned.
I couldn't recognise that cube was metal. I thought it was land. Perhaps a hexagonal shape would be better.

softlocked when the core upgrade cost goes beyond 1000 metal&gas since thats the limit for how much you can have at once.

beautiful art and calming music. Game got me hooked and I did manage to beat it :D the ray is very op and allows me to focus on the base. Good job!
